my new mail box....

My new mail box!!!
I ordered it from, where else,
Pottery Barn.

Here is hubby installing it for me
{in the dark, because I was so excited to get it up}
It was no small feat because our home is stone.
Unfortunately we had to move it from
the right side to the left side because
it did not fit on the right.

It never crossed my mind to measure,
or that one side of the door to the shutter
is smaller than the other.

The problem with that is,
I have been completely and totally spoiled
to getting my mail by sticking my head out the door
and reaching over.
Even if that means in my pajamas,
in the rain or snow.
Now, I have to walk out the door and around
to the mailbox.
Believe me when I say,
I will still be getting the mail in my pjs.

Looks good anyway though.
And after all, that's the most important thing, right?

The next step....
changing out the light fixtures!

Here are the replacements....

They are on back order until July.
I can't wait!

Here is a picture from pottery barn of the mailbox.
Ironically, this is also the color and style of siding that
I want to replace the siding on my sun room with.
I think it is called shake, maybe?
Not sure on that one.

I think it will look great with the stone house.

So much to do as usual!
One of these days it will all get done, right?

Napa Style...

Nappa Style...
I adore this catalog and on-line shoppe.
Thought I would share it with you.
How yummy is this french wine crate used as a side table.
This is so "office", but for the kitchen.
I love anything that is used in a different way then it was intended.
I use one of these old bathtub feet as a paper weight in my office
So much texture.
Heck of a coffee table,
comments on this piece would be endless.
These pendant lights just leave me speechless.
I think I have to have these just so
that I can host a cookies and milk party for the girls.
I would use these stools inside and out.
This is a spoon chandelier.
How fun is this?
Love anything with a religious icon,
and the fact that they are candles
just make them even more desirable to me.
I want this by every sink in my house!
This tray makes me long for muddy boots to slide off and stick inside.
Always love a demijohn
These inspire me to go to a yard sale or flea market
and buy every old drawer I can get my hands on.
Adore these plant markers.
It truly is all about the details.
So creative.
This site just really gets my mind reeling
with ideas to go out and be creative on my own,
and a good source when you just want it already!

Cloche Encounters

I am a collector.
I love the thrill of the hunt, and I love new and creative ways to display my collections.
So, in my quest to marry my collections to displays I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with all that is cloche.
Here are just a few that make my heart skip a beat! Can you even imagine going to a tag sale in the french countryside, and walking up to this? Hows about a metal cloche?
If I had a green house, I think I would love the idea of green glass in my green house. Celebrating all that my green thumb could do! Alas, I do not have a green house, I do not have green glass, and I certainly do not have a green thumb.
I know it is not even near Christmas, and the last thing we want to think about is decorating for said holiday, but holy holiday this is a great grouping of cloches.
I love the idea of growing a garden and rushing out before a frost to cover my plants with my collection of cloches. Hey, wait a minute the cloche was not supposed to become a collection, but a way to display an existing collection. How did that happen? Oh yeah, I am a collector, and it is just part of my nature that can not possibly be helped.
How about a little funky modern to the mix!
Such a modern twist on an old faithful!
no need for words here....
Did I mention I collect old scales for my kitchen?
How about a little Asian twist on the cloche?
I am a shoppe keeper, so this just tickled my fancy as a great way to display the candles we sell.
So sweet when paired with a desert pedestal....
Did I mention that I collect old clocks?
I would love this on my dining table for Spring. Notice the mushrooms. A great alternative to the expected flower.I think this is my favorite of all.
LOVE this industrial look paired with the architectural pieces and again with my old clock collection.
I feel an office make-over coming on!
