Super bowl Sunday....

         Super bowl table scape...
So, if you are like me,
you can not have a party
with out putting a fancy spin on things.

Even a party that is mostly for the fellas
needs a little dolling up.
So, here is my Superbowl scape...
It is an all meat and potatoes menu.
A menu with the man in mind.
(Some of the food got eaten before I remembered to take picts.)

The menu was:
sausage balls served with an apple jelly & mustard dipping sauce
hot ham & cheese with poppy seed sandwiches
pigs in a blanket on skewers with a ketchup, mustard & brown sugar dipping sauce
mini fried hamburgers with Colby jack cheese
served on home style fries and topped with a sliced small tomato.
and lastly, a potato bar
I just popped some baby red potatoes in the oven with some spices
and then put topping in small ramekins around them.
I decided not to do any fresh foods or
desserts because, lets face it,
guys just are not going to eat it.
And I wanted my menu to be all about the guys.
I drew a football play on an old chalk board
that I use for different things.
(I got on line, and got a real play.
So, that no fellas could laugh at me!)

Of course, the beverages
on ice in a galvanized bucket.
I also set beer glasses out
in case any one preferred.

This is am old football and stand
that I borrowed from my dad.
He played football and then became a referee.
He still carries the chain for WKU, our local college.
And if you know what carries the chains means,
then you know your football!
I also used a strip of the indoor-outdoor carpet
to mimic the look of a football field.
This really gives the table a sporty look and feel.
I scattered whistles and other little
football paraphernalia around on the table.
Whal-la Super bowl party
with a menu of the man
and wow-factor for the woman!
Goooooo Team!
Happy Super Bowl Sunday, ya'll!

Matilda, Matilda....

I held a Matilda Jane trunk show at my house last night,
and it was so much fun,
as usual.

I do not usually host anything at my home
that involves asking someone to buy something.
I feel like I do enough of that all day long at my shoppes.
However, this line is soooo adorable
that I feel like I am doing my friends a FAVOR by offering it.
Kinda like selling girl scout cookies~
people WANT to buy them!

So, if you get a chance check out their website
and then have a trunk show of your own.
Believe me when I say it is so much fun!
Just mix together some fun friends,
and some  a lot of wine,
Matilda jane clothes,
and wal-lah
Good times!

By the way,
they have the best adult clothing as well!
I basically live in it!
You are going to both hate me and love me for introducing you to this line!

a new color for an old clock...

Ok, so I finally got around to painting this old clock
that I have been meaning to paint since the day after Halloween.
(this was the best before picture I could come up with)

I wanted to leave it black until after Halloween,
because it just went so well with my whole
black and white Halloween decor.

But now that I am on such a kick
to freshen everything up for Spring.
I thought it was finally time for a new coat of paint.

I could not be happier with the results!
It makes my living room feel so light and bright.
Exactly the look I am going for.
I mean, just look at how different it makes the whole room look!

My hubby asked me if I planned on painting
it black every fall,
and ivory every spring.

I told him that I had not thought of that,
but what a great idea it was!
as he rolled his eyes and walked out of the room.
He hates  adores all of my projects!

A little freshen up...

I gave my mantle a little freshening up
for the Spring that I am sooooo ready for...

I just threw all the candles that I had in my home
up on the mantle and added
a couple shells,
and some branches.

I just wanted simple, clean elements and some nature.
A break from all the business in decor from the holidays.

I know it isn't much, but I kinda like it.
It suits my mood right now.

And after all,
that is what your home is supposed to be...
a reflection of you and who you are.
So, I guess here I am these days.

a new look...

Yeah,  I am so excited!

I got a little face lift for my blog.

It is amazing what a little nick and tuck can do!

Thank you Michelle with Shabby Creations

I am longing for some of this....
a little sunshine,
some pretty flowers, some fresh air,
weather warm enough to watch my children play outside,
warm enough for my doggies to run,
and warm enough to sit with hubby in the evenings to catch up.
Come on Spring...
get here already!
Happy Friday!

Paper wreath project...

My paper wreath...
I love to decorate, but
I do not consider my self to be the
best craftier in town.
So, I was quite proud of myself when
I made this paper wreath
out of old book pages.
I just added this sign to it,
and I think it turned out lovely!
I am a little proud of myself.
However, I must say
that it was quite easy.
I still do not consider myself a
"crafty lady"
but at least I was able to tackle this project
and finish it without tears!
