out door door table....

Here is my outdoor dining table....
an old door on a table base.

I will be taking pictures today of it dolled up
for fall this afternoon,
but I thought I would share a before picture from the end of the summer.

a bit of a before picture.

Happy Halloween, ya'll!

fall decor....

I took some pictures
at the Country Living magazine general store
last weekend as inspiration for my house after Halloween,
as I transition my home into Fall and Thanksgiving.

I thought they turned out good enough to share with you.

I love how it just looks like
bounty tossed into a large basket.
Mums in baskets.
So simple, but such impact.
These baskets are about 4 feet high.
I love how they have used baskets everywhere
with traditionally fall plants.

A stack of pumpkins on a wreath
sitting in a chair.

I am planning on using all these ideas in my house this year.

Thanks Country Living....again.

halloween house

Some of these pictures you might recognize from
but I thought you might be able to see some of them
a little better without all of my creative editing.

the room really creates a spooky effect
without being to plastic and cheesy.

I don't know if that comes across
in the pictures the way it does in person.

The coolest effect is in the evenings with all the candles lit
in front of the old, aged mirrors.

my fashionable scarecrow.
I used her outside last year,
but this year I decided to give her a break.
She now peers through the window at my neighbors
and any who dare pass by.
I don't know if you can tell,
but she is sporting a tiara from 1946....
....and he is sporting one of my dad's old fedora hats.
We have yet to name them.
Though several names have been discussed:
George and Weezie
Jack and Dianne
George and Martha
etc...

So what do you think?
What should we name them?

The Birds...

The Birds.....
In my dining room I peppered black ravens
all through my collection of iron stone.

It is simple, but effective
in creating a spooky effect.

come back soon for more creepy crawlies....

enter if you dare....

A few more haunts in the house...
Halloween is my favorite holiday,
if you couldn't tell already.

have yourself a haunted Halloween!

the witch's lair....

Enter if you dare....
to my witch's lair.

I creeped up the living room and dining room
by creating what I picture a witch would have in her lair.
between the chairs is a huge black wrought iron cauldron.
filled with candy to lure the prey inside.
(notice the Edgar Allen Poe pillow)

an overview of what awaits you...

loads of candles on the mantle
for those late nights spent infecting and dissecting.

specimens for the potions and lotions...

bones of  those who have been in the wrong place at the wrong time
rest on the buffet
with ravens perched around.

more to lair to come
if you dare to return!

Country Living magazine~take two

A few more pictures of my booth
at the Country Living magazine show in Atlanta.

I am just a little bit proud,
if you couldn't tell.

All the booths from all the vendors were so incredible.
I gleaned so much inspiration from them.

I have so many ideas swimming around in my head
for my shoppe, the next show, and goodies to make.

So, without further adieu,
my booth....

I met some really incredible people this weekend.
Just to name a few,
Cari Cucksey from HGTV's show Cash & Cari
and Sarah Gray-Miller, editor-in-chief of Country Living magazine.
I would actually rather meet gals like this
than movie stars.
SO, needless to say,
I have been a little star struck this weekend.
I am actually a little sad it's over....
