retake....

Well, I decided to take some
pictures of the chandelier
in the dining room in the day time,
like I said I would.
However, I forgot to turn it on!
Oh well, here are a few shots of it anyway.
I love it!

Happy Birthday to my Hubby today!
He took the day off to celebrate.
His way of celebrating:
building 3 8.5' raised flower beds
Man, do I have it good!
{or does he have it bad?}

a new chandelier for the dining room.....

The new chandelier
in our dining room....
it is driftwood with a
grey patina and
metal accents...
I sell this light fixture in my shop,
and it looked so good,
I thought I needed to
bring one home as well.

These are all night time shots of the light.
I need to get some day time shots of it
to really show it off.
I was unable to depart with the
chandelier that hung there for the 11 years
that we have lived in the cottage,
so I moved it to LuLu's for permanent residency.
As much as I change up,
it might reappear in 11 more years.

dining room...

I thought I would share an over view of
our dining room....
I have shown snippets of this room,
but never an over view of the whole room....
these pictures were taken when I still
had all of our Easter decor up,
so just picture all the bunnies and chick-a-dees gone....
I love my cow hide rug,
clean up is a pressure wash outside.
can't be any easier than that...

I have actually replaced these window treatments
now with the "Spring/Summer" dressings.

Yes, that's right, I dress my windows for Fall/Winter
and Spring/Summer...

Say what you like,
could not be anything I have not
already heard from hubby...

 actually, I have totally changed
the accessories on this console table
that leads into the formal living room...

Wow, I never realized how much this room has changed until now...

This post has now become
"the dining room BEFORE post"

Which means, a
"dining room AFTER post "
is in order...

I will take current pictures of this room next week
just so you can see what a difference a week
makes in this cottage!

Maybe hubby does have a point...
The only thing permanent in this little home
are the people that live in it.

I say to that,
Don't get too comfortable...
Happy day, ya'll!

mirror, mirror...

My new, old mirror...
I adore it,
had to share it!
 it graces my dining room
 for the time being...

A new centerpiece...

A new centerpiece for the table...
 I am obsessed with cloches,
I am obsessed with these fishing floaters,
And, I am obsessed with this georgous pewter tray...
So, I put them all together
and came up with this new centerpiece
for my dining room table.
I am pretty happy with it!
Happy Tuesday, Ya'll!

Dining room chair re-do...

Dining room chair re-do...
Here are some of the before picts...
 and during picts...
 and then the after picts...

It is amazing what a little paint
and new fabric can do!
Looks like I will be staying home again today
with the girlie-girls, thanks to another snow day.
I did not plan for all this time off,
so I don't have any projects lined up,
but I am sure I can find something to get into!

A winter table scape...

It seems like winter will never end,

so instead of running away from it.

I am embracing it!

Here is my dining room table with a winter table scape.

I just used my everyday off-white dishes,

some white tulips, mercury glass,

flake snow, and ivory candles.I love the fresh look of the white tulips

with the flake snow.

Such a contrast,

but they work so well together! Pretty simple, but a big impact.

I put the napkin, and silverware in the wine glass
because I get so bored with the typical lay out. Don't let the winter keep you down! Set a lovely table and cheer up! Cheers lovelies!

restoration hardware heart attack...

Have you seen the new Restoration Hardware catalog?
I got mine earlier this week, and put it in my pile of
"to get to later"
I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw their wares!
I want absolutely everything in every single picture,
and can afford absolutely nothing!
How did they know the inner desires of my little design heart?
So jealous
(but happy for of course)
of all the designer hearts
that will get to live with all these lovelies!
I mean just look at this floor lamp!
Just look at these french pillows!
Just look at this hand tied rug!
But the pièce de résistance:
This is a chest made to look like an old steamer!
...an all cigar leather version!
Surely there is some way to convince hubby that we not only NEED this desk,
but that it is a good deal at over $3000!
Surely!
And oh, my goodness,
are there really ANY words for how spectacular this chair is?
NO! NOT ONE!
You all know how much I LOVE me some farmhouse style.
Well, they have a whole line titled "farmhouse"
AAAHHHH!!!!
I can run, but I can not hide!
They have found me.
Darn you budget!
Darn you restoration Hardware!
