grey goodness.....

Another color that I am absolutely
crazy about is grey.

Check out these beautiful rooms
designed in grey....

I love this color.
looks like a grey with blue undertones.
I love the cow hide rug on the dark wood floor too.
this is a safe and soft grey.
Every color would look good
as an accent to this shade.
this porch is beyond yummy.
I love how they even painted
the woodwork grey.
love grey in the kitchen.
How great would this wall color
look with marble counter tops.
this kitchen would be great inspiration
for an out-dated kitchen.

Just take the door off the cabinets,
paint the bases grey,
and accessorize like crazy.
this looks like vacation to me.
and I am obsessed with stripes
used in different ways.
this dining room looks so rich, classic and elegant,
but modern because of the color pallet.
You can not top a Chesterfield sofa,
but one in grey velvet?
I am dying!
Would love, love, love this!

Hope you enjoyed all the
 grey goodness
on this Friday!

to navy or not to navy.....

Hubby and I have plans to paint the family room,
living room and dining room.

So, I have been searching around the Internet,
Pinterest and blogs for inspiration.

Here are some photos that are swaying
me towards a navy wall....

Maybe even do one accent wall...

I think my white couch
and leather chairs would pop
against the color.

How about a navy door?
I think it would look great on
my stone cottage,
but what color shutters?
Here is a reverse of my possible new
color scheme.
White walls and navy furniture....
It even looks good in a bathroom...
and on wood work....
So, what do you think
to navy, or not to navy?

white floors....

My latest and greatest obsession...

PAINTED WHITE FLOORS!

I mean just look at how they make a room
look instantly cool, calm and clean.
{these images found here}

They go with any style decor,
and they make color just pop.

They are even able to bring this Versace style
down a notch or two, to make it
a livable interior.

and of course, my favorite way to pair it,
with a shabby chic, cottage style.

These floors take the cake though.
I love how they embraced the timeworn floor that
was there before.

I have been mentioning the whole white floor thing to Hubby lately.
Our floors are in desperate need to refinishing,
but it would be SO much easier to paint them .

Needless to say,
he has not yet bought into the idea.

Working on that though....

new window treatments...

Ok, so I really am VERY settled on these window treatment....
I know I just did the burlap treatments,
but I just wasn't completely satisfied with them.
They are staying in the rotation.
I just think I am going to save them for the fall
when I need some earth tones and burlap....
I waited until Hubby went out of town
before I sneaked hung them up.
A few days later,
He said, "are those new?"
Well by then, the honest answer was no....

I have a loose definition of new.
Happy Day, ya'll!

Dining room chair re-do...

Dining room chair re-do...
Here are some of the before picts...
 and during picts...
 and then the after picts...

It is amazing what a little paint
and new fabric can do!
Looks like I will be staying home again today
with the girlie-girls, thanks to another snow day.
I did not plan for all this time off,
so I don't have any projects lined up,
but I am sure I can find something to get into!

Announcing....

I am pleased to announce
the newest addition to the Bradley household...
Her name is Cindy the chandy...
She is actually VERY old, but new to us!
We welcome her in with open arms...
 Oooohhh, she is just sooooo
pretty!
I love how she looks with the other pieces in the room.
I love that she is in the same room as concrete counter tops,
 a white slip covered sofa
and  brown distressed leather chairs.
I love the mix of all the different elements.
In the famous words of Ty Pennington
"Welcome home Cindy,
welcome home."

A little corner in my covington cottage...

This is a corner in my dining room...
It is a set of shutters placed behind
a little metal cart...
Right now I have a wooded tray
with blue ball jars
holding different sets of silverware sitting on it.
It changes quite often,
but this is what is on it as of now.
It comes in so handy when we are entertaining.
I usually use it for the drinks.
It makes a perfect little bar.
My little green fan on the bottom of the cart.

I have a set of burlap feed sacks
hanging on either side of the window.
You can see one of them to the right of the cart.

 So, there ya' go,
a little corner of the Covington cottage!
