bottle drying rack, my way....

Old French bottle drying racks
are all the rage right now.

I'm sure you have seen them
over and over in your magazines
 and blogs you follow.

I thought I would share with you
my bottle drying rack, my way....
I turned mine into a "plant stand"
for lack of a better term.
I have old silver cream and sugars
housing different petite plants
hanging from the rack in my kitchen,
conveniently in front of the window
and next to the sink.
I am in the process of collecting misters
to add to the display.
I have one clear glass one and
one metal one.
I will be adding more cream and sugar
plant holders this Spring
to make a full, green, living statement.

 There are so many things
you can do with these racks
outside of the original intent.
What ways have you displayed yours?
Or if you have decided you can not
live without one for one more second,
then message me.
I have the small ones
(as shown)
and the large ones available.
Soon, very soon,
you will just be able to shop directly
 from my shop website.
I am so excited.

French trunk....

My new, old coffee table...
a French trunk
I actually bought it to sell in the shop,
had a change of heart,
gave it to my mom,
had a change of heart,
asked for it back.
before you decide I am a bad daughter,
let me just say that we switch stuff up all the time,
and truth be told, more goes her way than mine.
So, it's justified....right?
I  love the old labels and stickers on the side...
 ...and the label that says
Paris, France

I like the bark brown
in the room against all the whites.
Gives a little contrast.
I know I just posted on this room,
but if it wasn't already obvious....
I change things around sometimes a lot constantly.

Hubby loves hates this part of living life in the cottage.

Napa Style...

Nappa Style...
I adore this catalog and on-line shoppe.
Thought I would share it with you.
How yummy is this french wine crate used as a side table.
This is so "office", but for the kitchen.
I love anything that is used in a different way then it was intended.
I use one of these old bathtub feet as a paper weight in my office
So much texture.
Heck of a coffee table,
comments on this piece would be endless.
These pendant lights just leave me speechless.
I think I have to have these just so
that I can host a cookies and milk party for the girls.
I would use these stools inside and out.
This is a spoon chandelier.
How fun is this?
Love anything with a religious icon,
and the fact that they are candles
just make them even more desirable to me.
I want this by every sink in my house!
This tray makes me long for muddy boots to slide off and stick inside.
Always love a demijohn
These inspire me to go to a yard sale or flea market
and buy every old drawer I can get my hands on.
Adore these plant markers.
It truly is all about the details.
So creative.
This site just really gets my mind reeling
with ideas to go out and be creative on my own,
and a good source when you just want it already!

Silhouettes

So, the latest of the lates of my obsessive obsessions
just happens to come in the form of a silhouette.
I am wanting to use these all over my house!
These can be left hanging forever, and have a classic appeal
vs.
the senior picture left hanging even when said senior is now 46 with a high schooler of her own.
(just not the same affect)
Love them in groupings,
love them alone.
Love them in frames,
or directly on the wall.
My mind is racing with ideas to use them in entertaining!
I want to have a garden party just to use them.
And if you know me, you know I probably will.
Sorry to the hubby.
Remember the little mention that I collect vintage jewelry?
Well, I think getting me a couple of these to layer would actually be saving money.
Ya' know, two for one!
Again, sorry to the hubby.
A modern twist.
Aahhh, but the classic. Perfection.
This is actually making me drool. Actually!
I am so hopelessly obsessed with the silhouette
that even the logo for one of my shoppes Little LuLu's is a child's silhouette.
I know, being obsessive is not always a good thing, but I only pick out the good things to be obsessed about, so ya' know, it makes it all good.

The best things in life ARE free!

Who says that the best things in life aren't free?
Well, not me!
Check out these cool give-aways from these cool blogs:
From vintage junky, a pillow that I absolutely adore.
In fact, I ordered it this morning from her on Etsy before it became a give-away.
But, one more sure wouldn't hurt.
She also has a OOAK pitcher to give.
From a Beach Cottage,
a subscription to Australia's County Living magazine.
I looked into subscribing to this magazine a couple of weeks ago, but to receive it in the states was nearly $200, so needless to say, my heart had to go on wanting. Until possibly now!
Just so we are clear, I am sharing this give-away with you all that I have been longing for, so if one of you wins it, be prepared to share. And I do mean without all the fabulous pages torn out for filing away as a must do someday! Oh yeah, I know ALL about that! Two more of my favorite giveaways: What is funny about this one is, don't you remember needing to jot something down so badly, and no paper in sight. Not to mention a pen. Or when you so desperately need to get rid of that old gum, but your momma taught you better than to just spit it out! Well, how excited would you have been to stumble onto one of these at just the right time?
...and what a great promotion!
Free air guitars....
Watch out Tom Cruise, I am picking mine up tomorrow.
Economy, you affect me not!
For I am getting all my good stuff free!
Happy Thursday, ya'll!

Etsy on my mind...

Etsy on my mind....
So, it is a lazy Sunday afternoon,
and I have spent mine moving furniture and accessories around my house.
Which, of course,
leads to editing some things out
and the need for replacements.
And, since it is Sunday and all my local haunts (including my shoppe)
are closed today (I live in the south).
I got on line
All of the photos on today's blog are from Etsy sellers.
I mean look at these treasures that are to be had out in cyberland....
Don't they just make your toes curl?
And your heart skip a beat?
And your mind race with ideas?
And while nothing can compete with fresh air,
and girlfriends on a Saturday morning
hot on the trail of a collection and laughter on their lips...
it is good to know that Etsy
and all of its talented keepers are there
on a rainy day,
when you just can not get out of your pajamas,
when you have a napping child,
or your inspiration comes at 12:36am
So, check out Etsy today.
As if you probably haven't already!
but remember....
There is no place like home,
and no website will ever be better than the local shoppe keepers hard work.
( After all, I am one of those keepers)
The seller featured are:
luckyolivervintage, oldcrowfarm, dogsbodydalvage, Eclecticpelican, parcel1, thefrenchnestco, salinascraftroom, kgentinella, herroyalfatness, satisfind, newberrycottage, luxedeluxe, karmatrice, & a bushelandapeck
